Arthritis Diet

Arthritis - this is a disease of the joints and periarticular tissues with inflammatory disorders of their functionality.

Development background:
hereditary predisposition to joint pathology, harmful habits (smoking, alcoholism), impaired metabolism and overweight, injuries (domestic, sports, professional, mental) or increased joint loads, infectious, allergic and immune diseases, diseases based on nervous system disorders , "Sedentary" lifestyle and poor nutrition, lack of vitamins.

Causes:

  1. 1 joint infection
  2. 2 injuries
  3. 3 hypothermia,
  4. 4 great physical exertion.

Symptoms:
pain in the morning in one or more joints (inflammatory type of pain), swelling, redness and hardening of the skin around the joints, their mobility, increased temperature in the joints, joint deformity, crunch under increased load.

Classification of Arthritis Types:
In modern medicine, there are about a hundred varieties of arthritis, the most common of them are classified:

depending on the extent of the lesion:

  • monoarthritis - inflammatory disease of one joint,
  • oligoarthritis - inflammatory disease of several joints,
  • polyarthritis - inflammatory disease of many joints,

depending on the nature of the flow:

depending on the nature of the lesion:

  • rheumatoid arthritis - systemic inflammatory autoimmune disease susivia (affects the periarticular tissues, systems and organs of the body),
  • psoriatic arthritis - joint disease that is associated with psoriasis,
  • reactive arthritis –A joint disease that develops as a result of an acute urogenital or intestinal infection,
  • infectious arthritis (septic or pyogenic arthritis) - an infectious disease of the joints (pathogens: gonococcus, tuberculosis, hemophilus bacilli, streptococci, yeast, fungal infections),
  • traumatic arthritis - develops as a result of damage to the joints,
  • dystrophic arthritis - develops as a result of cooling, metabolic disorders, physical overvoltage, violation of living and working conditions, lack of vitamins.

Due to the fact that there are so many varieties of arthritis, there is no single diet that would be equally suitable for therapeutic nutrition with each type of this disease. But still, with arthritis, it is necessary to include foods with an increased amount of trace elements and vitamins, eating boiled or baked food at least five or six times a day.

Useful products for arthritis

  1. 1 fruit, vegetables, especially orange or yellow, with a high content of vitamin C and antioxidants (bell pepper, citrus, juice of raw potatoes, carrots, beets, cucumbers, onions, apples),
  2. 2 salads from fresh vegetables and fruits,
  3. 3 berries (cranberries, cranberries),
  4. 4 fresh juices (for example, apple juice or a mixture of carrot juice, celery juice, tomatoes and cabbage),
  5. 5 lactic products with a high content of beneficial bacteria and calcium,
  6. 6 fish oil, cod liver oil (contain omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce the sensitivity of the joints),
  7. 7 separate fish varieties with unsaturated fatty acids in limited quantities (trout, mackerel, salmon),
  8. 8 buckwheat porridge and lentils (contain vegetable protein),
  9. 9 dietary meat (chicken, rabbit, turkey, boiled chicken eggs).

Folk remedies for arthritis:

  • fresh chicory herb (steam and apply to the sore spot),
  • coltsfoot or cabbage (wrap cabbage leaves at night, coltsfoot inflamed joints),
  • natural juices of lingonberry, apple, grapefruit (take two teaspoons per glass of pure water) or a mixture of juices (carrots, cucumber, beets, lettuce, cabbage, spinach),
  • celandine (juice used to lubricate the affected joints),
  • garlic (two or three cloves per day),
  • massage with essential oils (five drops of pine oil, three drops of lavender oil, three drops of lemon oil mixed with a tablespoon of olive oil or five drops of lemon oil, four drops of eucalyptus oil, four drops of lavender oil mixed with a tablespoon of grape seed oil).

Dangerous and harmful products for arthritis

Should be limited or excluded from the diet: sorrel, legumes, spinach, roasted meat, sausages, smoked meats, by-products, broths, alcohol, salt and sugar, products with a content of refractory fats and easily digestible carbohydrates, seasonings and spices (pepper, mustard, horseradish ), culinary, beef, pork and lamb fats, canned food, smoked meat, pickles, pickles, spicy snacks, pastry dough, strong coffee and tea, ice cream.

Basic Arthritis Diet Rules

The goal pursued by therapeutic nutrition in arthritis is the normalization of the immune response, the weakening of inflammatory reactions and the restoration of the full range of motion of the affected joint.

Food for arthritis is selected by the attending physician and depends on:

  • forms of the disease
  • the degree of damage to the joints
  • associated diseases
  • severity of clinical manifestations.

Therefore, there is no single diet for arthritis, but it is possible to define general principles for the preparation of a diet, as well as recommended and prohibited foods.

In total, nutrition for arthritis corresponds to a standard diet (general version) or treatment tables according to Pevsner No. 15, 10, 6, which are prescribed for different types of arthritis. The energy value of the diet is 2170-2400 calories per day, and the nutrient content corresponds to the following scheme:

  • proteins - 85-90g, of which 45-50g of animal proteins,
  • fats - 70-80g, of which 25-30g of vegetable fats,
  • carbohydrates - 300-330g, of which no more than 30-40g of complex sugars.

When overweight shows a low-calorie diet, the energy value of which is equal to 1340-1550 calories per day.

Principles of nutrition:

  • diet,
Meals should be frequent and fractional, up to 4-6 times a day, the last meal no later than 2 hours before bedtime. Fractional nutrition is meals in small quantities and saturation with small volumes, which does not overload the gastrointestinal tract, prevents overeating and excessive weight gain.
  • culinary processing
Food should be boiled, baked, steamed, or stewed. The dishes prepared in the above ways retain their nutritional value and vitamins in larger quantities, while in the process of frying, carcinogens and other toxins are formed, which increase inflammation processes, and hence pain, and also hinder the liver, whose function is to inactivate harmful substances, formed during inflammation of the joints.
  • food temperature
The optimum temperature of the prepared food should be within 15-60 degrees Celsius. Warm food is better digested, does not irritate the gastric mucosa and does not burden the liver.
  • salt and liquid
Table salt is limited to 6-10g, especially for gouty arthritis. This is due to the fact that, firstly, an excess of salt causes thickening of the blood, impairs microcirculation in the joints and provokes the deposition of salt deposits on the articular surfaces. And, secondly, the work of the urinary system worsens with salt, which makes it difficult to remove inflammatory mediators, toxins and other harmful substances from the body. It is necessary to consume 2-2.5 liters of free fluid per day, it increases the volume of circulating blood, reduces the concentration of inflammatory and harmful substances, prevents the deposition of salts on the articular surfaces and improves the composition of the intraarticular fluid.
  • weight,
Diet for arthritis is also aimed at combating obesity, so the content of complex sugars and easily digestible carbohydrates is significantly reduced in food. Consumption of animal protein is also limited due to its high content of purines (especially for gouty arthritis) and fats. The diet should include foods that contain substances that dissolve lipids. Excessive weight increases the load on the musculoskeletal system, in particular, on sore joints, which aggravates the course of arthritis.
  • alcohol,
Alcohol slows down the processes of regeneration in the affected joint and increases inflammation, as well as destroys vitamins and minerals, impairs microcirculation in the tissues.
  • vitamins
Food for patients with arthritis should be rich in vitamins, especially A, E, C, D and Group B, which have a beneficial effect on the condition of the joints and normalize metabolism.
  • caution in the choice of products.
In the mechanism of inflammation of the joints, the allergic component is of no small importance; therefore, it is necessary to take products with high allergenic activity with caution.

Prohibited Products

The list of prohibited foods includes foods rich in purines and nitrogenous substances that contribute to the deposition of salts on the surface of the joint. Basically, it is an animal protein.

Spicy and spicy dishes are also excluded, since such food increases the permeability of the vascular wall, which leads to increased absorption of harmful substances. In addition, spicy, salty foods and essential oils irritate the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, violate the processes of assimilation of nutrients and microelements.

It is necessary to refuse or limit the consumption of highly allergenic products, since they activate inflammatory mediators and aggravate the course of arthritis. It is necessary to reduce the amount of fat in the diet, especially of animal origin (refractory): they contribute to weight gain, violate the processes of digestion and elimination of uric acid salts from the body.

In order to reduce body weight, easily digestible carbohydrates, foods containing yeast are excluded or limited.

The list of prohibited products includes:

  • fresh wheat bread, pastry, cakes and pastries, pancakes, pancakes, pies,
  • meat and poultry, especially fatty varieties,
  • canned meat and fish (preservatives, flavor enhancers and other harmful and allergenic substances),
  • pickles, smoked meats, marinades,
  • seasonings (bitter and fragrant pepper, horseradish, coriander),
  • sauces in meat and fish broth, mayonnaise, broths from meat, fish, poultry and mushrooms (due to the high content of extractives, purines),
  • black coffee, tea (due to a stimulating effect, vascular spasm, microcirculation deterioration),
  • sausages, fast food,
  • offal (source of hidden fats, purines),
  • acidic vegetables and some fruits and plants (spinach, sorrel, celery), which increase the acidity of urine, increase the level of uric acid in the body,
  • vegetables of the family Solanaceae (tomatoes, eggplants, bell peppers, potatoes),
  • chocolate, jam, honey, butter creams, ice cream (easily digestible carbohydrates),
  • lard, margarine, beef and mutton fats,
  • high-fat milk and fermented milk products,
  • eggs (source of cholesterol, allergen, animal fats).

Permitted Products

First of all, the diet for arthritis should be rich in fresh vegetables and fruits. They alkaline urine, contain large amounts of vitamins, improve the excretion of feces and, with them, toxins, prevent constipation and normalize weight.

You must also eat foods that are rich in polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil). They reduce the content of prostaglandins, which are produced during inflammation, reduce platelet aggregation, as a result of which microcirculation improves and cholesterol levels return to normal.

Vitamin D prevents degenerative changes in the joints, takes part in the calcium-phosphorus metabolism, prevents the development of osteoporosis, suppresses inflammation.

Calcium stimulates the growth of cartilage tissue.

Vitamin A has antioxidant properties, increasing the effectiveness of opposing prostaglandins, stimulates the growth of cartilage, increases the body's defenses.

Ascorbic acid is necessary for the production of collagen - a connective tissue protein (cartilage), in addition, it has an anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating effect.

Vitamins B1, B5, B6 enhance the regeneration of damaged articular surfaces.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, it inactivates lipid peroxidation products, reduces inflammation.

The list of approved products includes:

  • bread made from bran, rye or dried, crackers, biscuits,
  • vegetarian soups or soups with cereals and pasta,
  • buckwheat, oats, rice, lentils, beans, millet, corn and pearl barley - fiber, vegetable protein, vitamins of group B,
  • greens (parsley, lettuce, dill) - sources of vitamin C, folic acid, iron, calcium,
  • carrots and beets (with care), pumpkin, zucchini, cabbage, cucumbers,
  • lean meat and poultry without skin (1-3 times a week),
  • sea fish (tuna, trout, cod, mackerel) - polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, phosphorus, vitamin D,
  • dairy products with low fat and live biocultures - vitamin D, protein,
  • bananas, peaches, kiwi, apricots, citrus fruits (with care), apples, preferably red,
  • raspberry, lingonberry, cranberry, strawberry (with care), black currant, sea buckthorn - vitamins E and C,
  • sunflower and pumpkin seeds, nuts (with caution),
  • vegetable oil, preferably flaxseed (it is better absorbed, contains omega-3 fatty acids),
  • green tea, freshly squeezed juices from vegetables and fruits,
  • jelly, jelly, aspic, jelly from bones and joints - chondroitin, necessary for cartilage tissue.

What should not be used for arthritis?

By adhering to a certain diet and not including banned foods in your diet, you can significantly alleviate the symptoms of the disease: reduce inflammation and pain, reduce swelling, and get rid of increased body weight.

Arthritis should not be consumed:

Strong tea and coffee. Refusal of their admission should be due to the fact that an excess of caffeine in the body leads to the leaching of calcium from the bones. This provokes the development of arthritis and aggravates its course.

Meat dishes. The fact is that arachidonic acid is included in the composition of animal products. Once in the human body, it breaks down into eicosanoids. It is these biologically active substances that cause inflammation of the joints, which leads to arthritis.

Alcohol. The use of alcoholic beverages leads to the fact that in the human blood such active substances as adrenaline and dopamine enter. They aggravate the course of the disease, increasing inflammation in the tissues of the joint. The level of potassium in the blood decreases, which leads to the formation of edema. The fluid in the periarticular bag begins to arrive, the pressure inside it increases. If alcohol intoxication has occurred, then the cartilage tissue of the joint will thin out. It is also dangerous to drink alcohol with drugs, such as analgesics.

Chocolate. These products contain concentrated sugar, which will contribute to the accumulation of excess weight. This will adversely affect the condition of the joints, contributing to their deformation.

Salt. These white crystals lead to the deposition of salts in the joints, help reduce bone mass, increase swelling, develop inflammation and increase pain.

French fries, chips, crackers, margarine, cakes. All these products contain trans fats, which will lead to an increase in body weight, will contribute to impaired blood circulation, which means that the diseased joints will receive less nutrients that will aggravate the course of arthritis.

Egg yolk, butter, cod liver, eggplant tomatoes, sour cream, etc. Will contribute to the fact that there is a risk of developing gout, and hence an attack of gouty arthritis.

In general, there are few foods that are banned in people with arthritis. All of them are replaceable, and the person will not experience strong discomfort, going on a diet. Moreover, it should be strictly adhered to only in those days when the disease is in the acute stage. In periods of remission, diet is not so strict.

What should I use for arthritis?

There are whole groups of products that must be consumed by patients with arthritis.

But from them it is possible to isolate eight of the most useful, they contain the maximum amount of useful substances that will contribute to the fact that the sore joint will return to normal:

Salmon. This fish is a champion in omega-3 acids. They are necessary for the joints in order to relieve inflammation in them. The most useful is this fish that is caught in the seas, the one that grew up in the wild. In artificially grown fish, the content of omega-3 is significantly less. Salmon also contains vitamin D3, for bones it is simply indispensable.

Almonds, which contain large amounts of vitamin E. Its regular intake into the body contributes to the fact that the outer membrane of the articular bags will be strengthened. This will protect the joint from being destroyed by free radicals. If a person with arthritis is allergic to this nut, then it can always be replaced with sunflower seeds or peanuts. An important vitamin is in them, but in slightly reduced doses.

Papaya. Its advantage is that it contains just a huge amount of vitamin C. According to recent studies, it affects both the occurrence and the rate of development of arthritis. It is in vain to believe that this vitamin is abundant in oranges and lemons, in papaya it is twice as large. In addition, this exotic fruit contains beta - carotene, which is good for healthy joints.

Apples that contribute to the production of collagen. It is the basis of the cartilage tissue of the joint, which is destroyed by arthritis. In order to make up for its loss, it is necessary to eat at least one of these available to almost every fruit. Naturally, there is no collagen in apples, but they contain quercetin, which is actively involved in its formation. But in order for the beneficial component to enter the body to the full, it is necessary not to peel an apple and to treat it thermally.

Black beans are preferable to other varieties when it comes to joints. Black beans contain more antioxidants, especially anthocyanins, which fight against free radicals, which suppress the production of cyclooxygenase (cox-2) - an enzyme responsible for inflammation. Also, black beans are filled with manganese, an essential mineral for healthy joints.

Cabbage leaf This product is rich in calcium, which is necessary for bones. Most people believe that to get the required dose of this trace element you need to drink milk. In fact, it is quite possible to replace it with cabbage, which will be a priority for arthritis patients. After all, it also contains copper (which is necessary for the formation of collagen), as well as manganese (which contributes to the production of enzymes for the restoration of cartilage tissue). Eating cabbage even in large quantities, you can not worry about the deposition of harmful cholesterol or weight gain.

Broccoli are a close relative of kale. Especially they are useful for older people. The level of sulforaphane (a component responsible for fighting the radicals that destroy cartilage and bone tissue) in the blood is low. Besides eating broccoli, a person nourishes the body with calcium, vitamins A and C.

Ginger will relieve swelling and pain. It inhibits the production of COX-2 enzymes that cause joint inflammation. The effect of ginger is akin to that of NSAIDs. Of course, it is not so strong, but it does not give any side effects.

By consuming these foods, you can help the body deal with arthritis.

But there are general recommendations, which are as follows:

On the table must be present vegetables and fruits. But it is necessary to exclude tomatoes and green onions.

Should consume kefir, ryazhenku, cottage cheese - all dairy products, but not milk.

Fruit, but only after consulting with the doctor. This is due to the fact that the acid contained in some of them can negatively affect the state of the stomach while taking NSAIDs.

From meat should consume only what does not contain large amounts of fat. For example, rabbit, chicken (only boiled chicken, excluding broth, every 2-3 days).

There must be a fish on the table of a person with arthritis.

Menu for the week with arthritis

Of course, it can be difficult for a person to create a full-fledged diet for the treatment of arthritis. Therefore, you can follow the already prepared recommendations. Depending on the condition of the patient, the proposed scheme can be supplemented or varied. But it is always necessary to remember about those products whose consumption is contraindicated.

A sample menu used for inflammation of the joints for 7 days consists of:

It is necessary to adhere to the following principles:

Fruits and vegetables should be included in the daily diet at least twice a day. Be sure to eat one apple with the peel.

Grain porridge is obligatory to use: either in the morning or in the evening.

It is necessary to cook dishes in a gentle way, without subjecting them to processing.

On the day, one-time use of a fermented milk drink is required.

What is solanaceous?

Solanaceae are representatives of the Solanaceae family, including more than 90 genera and 2,000 species. You can not guess, but tobacco is also of this kind. In fact, they smoked for quite a long time, over the centuries, and no one had previously thought about the dangers of smoking. Also, this family includes the following crops and products: tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants and all kinds of pepper, but not black pepper - it is from a completely different species. If you recall the famous Mexican tomatoes, then they are very common in Central and South America.

There is a very interesting story about how and why this family was named that way. It went from ancient Rome. In ancient Rome poisons were made from the family of the nightshade at war or during palace coups. And if you look at the exact translation from English, it literally translates as “night shadows”. So, the Romans made of them poison - and the man began to sink into darkness and die for a long time and painfully.

Here are some examples. Many poisonous plants, such as belladonna with black petunia berries, addictive tobacco, juicy vegetables, medicines such as sclononine, which is part of the tablets, from the fact that you do not sleep at night, remember, they still do not give to children.

What problems arise in connection with the nightshade?

Long ago, people understood why their livestock and dogs are dying. There have long been stories that do not need to eat tomatoes and potatoes, and old people still believe that they can not be eaten. If you still remember the farmers, then many generations sent their children to snatch this crop like weeds. And tomatoes used to have such a name as “cancerous apples”. And if you look at tobacco, then everything is completely clear here. We learned about the harm recently and have recently begun to prohibit it.

What Norman Childers offers people

People start to think only about one thing: how dangerous are plants of this kind. Almost all people now eat such foods as potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants. And the potato has already won the title of earthen bread in Russia. Peppers, eggplants - we eat all this every day and do not complain.

If you take the scientific community, then research began only in the 50s of the XX century, as soon as the following appeared. Once a doctor comes in and says that the colon may have become inflamed because this person ate red pepper. It is a pity that the operation could not be avoided, but later, when a person stopped using these products in their daily diet, his state of health improved dramatically.

Enough time has passed, but the experiment was not forgotten. He gave too good results, and it was decided to continue the experiment with such a diet for arthritis and other diseases of the joints, but on others. After all, everyone wants to cure or correct their health. Not so long ago, an ad was given, and quite a bit of time passed — quite a lot of feedback came, after which the authors of the ad sent quite detailed descriptions of diets to all those who wrote reviews, and then it was time to wait for the results. And they did not keep themselves waiting. The experiment was successfully completed by 72%, that is, seventy-two percent of people out of a hundred recovered and began to feel much better. Agree, this is a good result. After that, my colleagues and I wrote a book about it.

It all ended very well, we even opened a help center that helps to eat right. We practically got rid of such a disease as arthritis. Now we are publishing books and sending a lot of letters with precise instructions. We have only four thousand three hundred subscribers to whom we send letters every month.

What to do to people who only refuse from the nightshade?

Abandon the nightshade is a difficult thing. But it is precisely this step that is central to proper nutrition in arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoarthrosis, etc. To do this, you have to do a lot, you really need to. There must be sufficient motivation. For example, the desire to recover from the fact that while it does not hurt is quite difficult to understand, but it is very necessary. If you look at an ordinary person, he eats a nightshade. But things are much worse when we see a smoking person. Solanaceous can cause addiction, and now we should be afraid of this more than ever. The more you eat them, the worse. Let's look again at the smoker. The more he smokes, the more his lungs turn into a black hole, which will soon absorb the entire body.

Look at your grandparents you know or just people who feel unwell. What do they eat? Yes, you guessed it, they eat the nightshade. In our century - the century that simply filled the nightshade, in a century in which we without them will just go hungry. Look at why children have a headache, why children just get sick, because they have a young body, but why do they know pills since childhood? It's all about food: potatoes, pizza and more. You're just scared for your children.

Difficult very many studies. When you eat these foods, they do not immediately tell about themselves. Everything accumulates over the years, decades. And it is not clear when and on what day it all comes to light. If a smoking person develops cancer, then we can say that another person may also develop cancer.

All this has long been proven statistics. But what about a person who eats tomatoes? Nothing at all. Yes, over time, it will not matter to him, but another person who also ate tomatoes may also be fine. All plants of this type contain elements that are very similar to the elements in drugs. From this we can conclude that all of them can cause dependence in a person, and he may not understand at all. Suffice it to recall the example of a cigarette.

All that can be said with great precision and certainty is that the nightshade cause illness and rejecting them will help you to become healthy. This conclusion is not made by us, it is made by statistics based on forty-five years of experience and materials.

Why is diet necessary?

Proper nutrition for arthrosis and arthritis determines the success of treatment. Because illnesses suggest a degenerative-inflammatory effect on cartilage and articular membranes. The importance of diet for such pathological changes lies in the following principles:

  • restoration of the required amount of collagen - an element that ensures the integrity of the cartilage fibers,
  • nutrition of the body with calcium and iron,
  • acceleration of tissue regeneration
  • improving the immune properties of the body,
  • ph recovery.

More often with the inflammation of the joints used diet number 10.

What to eat?

Medical nutrition for arthritis of the knee should include a large number of products of different groups. The diet should be nutritious, but not exceed 2400 kcal per day, with a ratio of 16% fat to one-third vegetable, 66% carbohydrates, of which 12% are complex sugars, 18% proteins. Food should be ingested in small portions, 5-6 times a day, so as not to cause an increase in body weight. There is a special table of food for arthrosis of the joints. It includes such useful products:

Omega-3 contained in salmon has a positive effect on articulations.

  • Salmon. Due to the large amount of omega-3 acids in this class of fish, the product is the “best friend” in inflammation of the joints. In addition, the variety contains vitamin D3, which is responsible for strengthening bones.
  • Almond. The nuts of this species contain vitamin E, which strengthens the membrane of the articular sac. If the patient suffers from an allergy to this product, change to sunflower seeds or peanuts.
  • Papaya. The fruit contains vitamin C and beta-carotene, which is indispensable for the normal functioning of the bones.
  • Apples. Activate the production of collagen - an element of cartilage tissue.
  • Black beans. Contains antioxidants that inhibit the development of the inflammatory process.
  • Kale. Contains copper, manganese and calcium, which are necessary for bones.
  • Broccoli. It has a high content of sulforaphane, which breaks down free radicals that destroy bone and cartilage tissue.
  • Ginger. It inhibits the work of enzymes SOH-2, which destroy the joint.

What can not eat?

Food for rheumatoid arthritis must be built on products that do not cause allergic reactions, because they provoke the development of the disease. In addition, the disease can not eat this food:

Features diet with arthritis

Nutrition in reactive arthritis differs depending on the form of the disease. The only thing you need is fresh fruit and fish, steamed or in the oven. Assign food that will be useful for the disease in the acute stage and during the recovery period, can only be a doctor, having studied the individual characteristics of the patient.

What you need to eat in acute?

Proper nutrition in the period of exacerbation is based on several basic rules:

  • It is necessary to reduce the caloric intake. The maximum allowable rate - 1700-1800 kcal / day.
  • The amount of salt consumed must be reduced to 3 g or discontinue the use of this dietary supplement.
  • As much as possible to reduce a dose of proteins and fats to 70 g / day.
  • Drink no more than a liter of liquid, mineral water is contraindicated.

If it is a disease in childhood, only a doctor can prescribe food for a child.

In remission

The first thing that is shown for proper nutrition of the child and the adult in the period of alleviating the disease is an increase in the dose of protein intake, while carbohydrates and sugar must be limited. It is impossible to drink coffee and strong tea at this stage, but some patients already eat fatty varieties of sea fish, but the consumption of this product should still be limited. It is impossible to consume carbonated drinks, it is better to pay attention to juices.

Sample dishes

Properly prepared diet for a week allows you to normalize the patient's condition within a week. The ideal solution would be to consult a nutritionist who would eliminate the harmful product and replace it with a useful one. Useful for arthritis are such dishes:

  • fresh vegetable salads (with the exception of tomatoes),
  • rice porrige,
  • soaked in kefir raw buckwheat,
  • vegetable soups and broths,
  • steamed and steamed vegetables (except eggplants),
  • mashed potatoes and baked fruit
  • durum pasta
  • rye bread croutons instead of fresh baked goods
  • dry fruit compotes without sugar,
  • raw vegetables and fruits.
For a normal state of health the patient is important to eat right.

Of these dishes and their variations, you can make a menu for the week with arthritis and gradually include new products in it. The principle of the diet with the disease - a varied diet. There is no need to adhere to special diets, and after therapy, one can eat as usual, although an unhealthy diet can provoke the development of recurrent inflammation of the joints.

Features of Childers Diet

Rheumatoid arthritis can be cured quickly and permanently if you follow the rules of nutrition that Norman Childers has developed. Their essence lies in the complete abandonment of the use of eggplants, potatoes and peppers. Studies have shown that vegetables of the Solanaceae group contain trace elements similar to narcotic substances. If you give them up, you can not only cure the disease, but also improve your overall well-being.

What is arthritis

Systemic inflammatory disease, accompanied by pain during movement, deformity and limited mobility of the joints, called arthritis. There are many types of this pathology. The lesion of one or more joints is called monoarthritis or polyarthritis. The causes of the disease may be defects in the immune system, metabolic disorders, infectious infections, hereditary predisposition. It is impossible to cure arthritis, medicines only reduce pain and slow its development.

General principles of nutrition

Food for arthritis and arthrosis should be fractional, frequent, gentle to the organs of the digestive tract. Fish and meat dishes must be cooked, stewed, baked. In the diet should be a lot of vegetables, fruits and dairy products. The use of salt and sugar should be limited, depending on the type of disease varies fluid intake.

Chicken meat, eggs, fish are considered to be irreplaceable sources of protein and polyunsaturated fatty acids, but they are also allergenic products, which provoke the formation of uric acid and kidney stones. Under certain conditions, they can be excluded from the patient’s diet. The diet for arthritis does not include tomatoes, eggplants and other nightshade.

Many products provoke the development of the disease, cause inflammation, contribute to the reduction of bone mass, thinning of cartilage tissue, the formation of edema. Among them - fatty, fried foods, canned food, sausages, alcohol, carbonated drinks, trans fats in the form of chips, margarine, baking. Their use in any form of arthritis is prohibited.

Diet for rheumatoid arthritis of the joints

Treatment of severe systemic irreversible disease - rheumatoid arthritis - often requires limitation of mobility, bed rest. Correction of nutrition in the active stage of the pathology is necessary to reduce the overweight of the patient, prevent puffiness, suppress pain, prevent osteoporosis, level out the side effects of treatment.

The energy value of the diet in the acute phase is limited by a decrease in the consumption of all types of macronutrients - proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and water. The daily caloric content of meals is reduced to 1,700 kcal by replacing easily digestible carbohydrates - sugar-containing and flour-based products - with slow carbohydrates - vegetables, fruits, berries, cereals. Sugar in the diet should not exceed 20 grams per day.

To prevent the formation of edema, fluid intake is reduced to 0.8 liters per day, to 2-3 g - salt intake. To reduce the likelihood of an inflammatory process, the amount of proteins should be no more than 70 g, only half of them are of animal origin. The amount of fat also decreases - only 60 g per day, while the proportion of animal fat should be less than half.

Manganese, potassium and calcium are necessary for the body to remove excess fluid, salt, and prevention of osteoporosis. Potassium-rich pumpkin, raisins, dried apricots, prunes and sources of calcium - cheese, cottage cheese, walnuts are included in the diet. The restriction of protein products, fats and carbohydrates are replenished with micronutrients - vitamins, mineral complexes, enzymes. Well enrich the diet, help in the fight against inflammation ascorbic acid, rutin, vitamin P.

In the remission phase, the patient's nutrition should be complete, with a caloric content of 2400 kcal per day. The diet includes: proteins - 100 g, carbohydrates - 250 g, fat - 70 g. Daily fluid intake - up to 1 l, salt - 3-5 g. The menu includes lean fish, dietary meat. Vegetable component of the diet after the end of the phase of aggravation still should not include the nightshade.

With gouty

The cause of the disease is the accumulation in the body of excess uric acid, contributing to the development of inflammatory processes and gouty growths in the joints. Uric acidic substances are formed by purine bases entering the body with food, and are excreted by the kidneys. Their excess can be explained by poor nutrition or renal failure.

Some foods can provoke inhibition of kidney function. For example, oxalic acid, containing calcium and magnesium oxalates poorly soluble in water, promotes the formation of oxalate stones deposited in the kidneys and slowing the output of urine acidic substances. Refractory fats also inhibit their quick disposal.

The concentration of uric acid in the blood can be reduced by reducing the consumption of carbohydrates and protein products that form uric acid during decomposition. But the most dangerous supplier of purine bases are red meat, offal, some varieties of fish. Excessive formation of uric acid occurs during antitumor therapy.

Diet for gout and arthritis eliminates purine-containing meat and fish dishes, limits the amount of carbohydrates and proteins. To prevent urolithiasis, low-salt urine products are included in the diet. The energy value of the diet is 2800 kcal / day, while it is allowed to use:

  • dietary varieties of meat, poultry - 3 times a week, 150 g each,
  • low-fat fish - 3 times a week for 180 g,
  • vegetarian soups,
  • fermented milk products,
  • vegetables,
  • bread from flour 1 and 2 varieties,
  • juices, decoctions, slightly alkaline non-carbonated mineral water.

When gout to reduce the level of uric acid in the blood is recommended to hold vegetarian fasting days, excluding the consumption of meat and fish dishes. During remission, unloading is desirable twice a week, during an exacerbation - every other day. Soups and salads with sorrel, rhubarb and vegetarian meals are prohibited.

With psoriatic

About 20% of patients with psoriasis have complications in the form of joint damage - psoriatic arthritis. The disease is treated with highly toxic anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, hormonal, anticancer drugs and physiotherapy. The purpose of the diet are: the normalization of metabolic processes, removal of toxins, maintaining an alkaline environment, preventing the exacerbation of the disease.

Nutrition for arthritis of the knee joint should reduce the load and pain by reducing the patient's body weight. To do this, easily digestible carbohydrates are replaced by complex, supplied with vegetables and fruits. Plant food is necessary to enhance the motility of the digestive tract, normalization of metabolism, metabolism, and acid-base balance in the body.

In the case of drug treatment, dietary meat and fish are required. Dairy products, vegetables, vegetable oils, alkaline non-carbonated mineral water are shown at any stage of the disease. During exacerbation, the amount of protein is reduced to 80 g, carbohydrates - to 250 g. The consumption of meat and fish is limited, the broths based on them are completely excluded. During remission, the calorie intake should be at the level of 2500 kcal, the energy balance of the products is as follows:

  • proteins - 90 g, in the most part of plant origin,
  • fats - 100 g, one third should be vegetable,
  • carbohydrates - 350 - 400 g,

Among the most famous diets - Scandinavian, 40-day rice, Dong's diet, Norman Childers diet:

  • A 40-day rice diet for arthritis of the fingers increases joint mobility by removing salt deposits. 2 tablespoons of cereals filled with 0.5 liters of water and infused during the day. Then the rice is washed, filled with fresh water and worth another 6 days. Every day the next portion is prepared. After 6 days from the first portion of rice cooked porridge and eaten for breakfast. • Norman Childers' diet is based on the statement that solanaceous crops contain large amounts of alkaloids, which have a detrimental effect on articular cartilage. Exclude from the diet potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, according to Childers, it is necessary for a month, after which the patient's well-being improves significantly. Long-term practice proved the effectiveness of this method.
